1. Course of Studies
Garalgacha Balika Vidyalaya has the following course of studies:
- The Secondary Section (class X) prepares the students for Madhyamik Exam of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education, in the following subjects : Bengali, English, Mathematics, Life science, Physical Science, History & Geography.
- The Higher Secondary Section (Class XI & XII) accepts students who have passed Madhyamik Exam or its equivalent and prepares them for Higher Secondary Examination of West Bengal Council for Higher Secondary Education in two streams.
- Science Stream – Bengali, English, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, computer Application and Geography.
- Arts Stream – Bengali, English, History / Mathematics, Geography, Sanskrit / computer Application, Philosophy, education, Political Science.
Note:- The Higher Secondary is a separate course. Admission to it is entirely at the discretion of the school authorities, even for the students who have completed the Madhyamik at Garalgacha Balika Vidyalaya, Garalgacha. A new application is required for admission to this course.
- Garalgacha Balika Vidyalaya, though a Bengali Medium School, makes every effort to the students to use English effectively to read write and speak
- Special attention is given to ensure a high standard of morality and discipline in the school. A student must strive to virtues such as honesty, sincerity, piety, compassion, generosity, love for native and self-reliance.
- The students personality, initiative and originally are given full scope in creative or co-curricular activities and by involvement and participation in youth movements, sports and games.
